Where do all the new books go in the library?

The entire school makes its orders through a service called ISS (International School Services).  This order is made and submitted in December, and all the materials arrive during the summer.

When we arrive for the start of any new school year, the library has boxes and boxes filled with shiny new books!  We process these books and then bit by bit put them on display around the tops of the  shelves in the library (mainly the fiction area).  Every week to two weeks we change the books on display.  We usually try to display them in themes.  For example, we have tons of new Lonely Planet travel books; they are all displayed together right now.  There’s also a new Greek Gods series for the reference section; that’s also on display behind the circulation desk.  Also behind the circulation desk are new movies–which you too can check out!  New fiction books are always out on the fiction shelves.  And don’t forget the Book of the Week (which also has its own blog). This book is usually new and written about on the blog.

Therefore at anytime during the year–even the last months, weeks, and days of a school year, you can see new books on display.  Just look at any book displayed on top of the shelves in the fiction area–it’s a new book!
