For an easier experience there are two Na’vi generators.  This one by Devianart creates a cartoon like Na’vi avatar.  It’s easy to make with lots of options for clothing and accessories.

Also, for the very realistic looking Na’vi avatar, McDonalds sponsored this great “Avatarize Yourself” generator.  Just load a picture, and an avatar is created.
