Dear Librarian, where are you now?
My family and I have recently moved from Beijing to Hong Kong. I will now be serving as the high school librarian at Hong Kong International School (HKIS). HKIS is a large school with approximately 2600 students in four different divisions: lower primary, upper primary, middle school, and high school. There are two campuses for this school on the south side of Hong Kong Island; the lower and upper primary are on the Repulse Bay campus, and the middle school and high school are on the Tai Tam campus.
The students at HKIS are very diverse coming from 40 different countries around the world. The curricular program is rigorous offering an American style education with AP classes in the high school. Most importantly, the students are said to be amazing! I can’t wait to find out when school starts Wednesday, August 15.
Hi! I used to live there too and tutored many HKIS kids- you guys are doing the Asia tour thing well. Hi to Kevin!

Hi Ann,
Welcome to HK, I am sure you will enjoy your time here, it is an amazing & dynamic city.
Hope to see you at one of our ALESS meetings this year, it would be great to share ideas in person! http://aless.wikispaces.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ALESS/
Have a great year at HKIS.

Hi Ann,
I worked with you in Jeddah years ago, and currently I am the ES Librarian at The American School in New Delhi, India. I am currently investigating Overdrive. I am wondering if you have had any experience with Overdrive and your thoughts about Overdrive vs. Follett Shelf.
Last year Anton gave me a tour of your beautiful library when I was at 21CLHK last March. Your library is so child-friendly and has a beautiful aesthetic. Tell Anton hi.
Wishing you well,
Tammy Pretz

Hi Tammy! We actually have a librarians’ meeting today. I’ll tell Anton hello. What a small world huh? And we worked together in Saudi! Wow!! We are investigating Overdrive for our school over here in Hong Kong. We’re getting close, but Overdrive hasn’t been launched over here; we are one of their first costumers and schools. I’ll let you know how it goes. Take care! Ann
