What is the “Maker Movement?”

I have recently been hearing about something called the “Maker Movement.” Maybe you have too. Let me explain what it is. It first started from an magazine called Make–which can be read in both print and online. Make is a magazine focusing on do-it-yourself (DIY) creations with examples like robots, woodworks, and sensory lit products. People today don’t need to rely on purchasing products; rather they can stop and take the time to create products themselves–often for much cheaper than the going price and always for more fun. The “Make Movement” refers to this act of creating things for ourselves by ourselves happening much more often. In fact, Make also sponsers Maker Faires where inventors, tinkerers, artisans, and people who just enjoy creating gather together to share their art, inventions, and creations.
